You may think crows merely scavenge for food, but one cheeky bird in Malaysia seems to have taken a shine to money instead.
A mischievous crow was seen carryiing around some cash (yes, really) in Kuala Lumpur, as captured by Instagram user Teh Wee Seng.
In the first comical encounter, a man was seen trying to retrieve two bank notes from the bird. He was chasing after it down a flight of steps in an attempt to get the money – a RM20 note (S$6.07) and a RM50 note (S$15.17).
It is unclear if the money belonged to the man or if he, like the crow, was attracted to the banknote.
Was the bird taunting him, even daring him to chase it? It sure looked like it.
In a separate video posted by Wee Seng, a woman also tried to retrieve the money while walking and talking on the phone.
Amused netizens were quick to guess the crow’s intentions. “Maybe it was trying to buy food instead of going through the rubbish bin? After all, why eat leftovers, right?” one commented.
Another netizen remarked that her “phone call must be a $50mil business deal.”
Eventually, the crow seemingly got bored and dropped the RM50 bill before flying away.
Well, either the bird was trying to cut its losses and take whatever it could, or it’s just attracted to the cash, regardless of value.
Wee Seng has hinted that there is still an unreleased clip. Could there be a twist in this entertaining three-part series?
