Heavy traffic in Bukit Timah expected on April 22 for Puan Noor Aishah’s casket procession to Kranji


SINGAPORE – Police have warned of heavy traffic along parts of Bukit Timah on April 22, as the ceremonial gun carriage carrying the late Puan Noor Aishah – widow of Singapore’s first president Yusof Ishak – moves from Ba’alwie Mosque in Lewis Road to the Kranji State Cemetery.

Puan Noor Aishah died in the morning on April 22. She was 91.

Heavy traffic may be expected along Dalvey Estate, Lewis Road, Bukit Timah Road and Woodlands Road, said the Singapore Police Force in an advisory on April 22. It did not state the time of the funeral procession.

Only residents and authorised vehicles will be permitted entry into Lewis Road. Vehicles parking along Lewis Road may be towed away if found to be obstructing traffic.
