They say family will always be your biggest supporters and that’s definitely the case for Dr Chee Soon Juan.
At Singapore Democratic Party (SDP)’s rally for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC at Choa Chu Kang Stadium on Thursday (Apr 24), the eldest daughter of the 62-year-old SDP chief was spotted manning a booth by TikToker Radical Kindness.
Dr Chee, a former National University of Singapore professor, and his wife Huang Chih Mei have two daughters, An Lyn, 26, and Elyn, 22, and a son Shaw Hur, 20.
When approached by Radical Kindness, An Lyn shared that she’s trying to keep a low profile this General Elections so the focus can be on her father.
Despite that, she agreed to a short interview, where she talked about her relationship with Dr Chee.
An Lyn first shared that she’s working in the marketing, communications and events sector, and that she’s trying to use her strengths to help her dad in his campaign.
She was also asked if she and Dr Chee have had disagreements about topics like their political views.
Asserting that they’re “quite aligned” on their political views, An Lyn said the disagreements they had are normal family disagreements about, for example, not being allowed to stay out too late.
“When I was younger, you know, I wanted to go out later and go to clubs with my friends but my father was very protective. So I had to be back by a certain time, but now that we’re older, I think we’ve got a very good relationship,” she said.
