Genting Malaysia opens 2026 scholarship applications for young Malaysians


KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 — Genting Malaysia Berhad has opened applications for its 2026 Scholarship Award Programme, offering financial support and industry exposure to outstanding young Malaysians pursuing undergraduate studies locally or abroad.

The company said the initiative reflects its commitment to nurturing future leaders by supporting academically strong students who also demonstrate leadership qualities and active involvement in co‑curricular activities.

“Recipients will receive full financial assistance for their undergraduate studies, along with internship opportunities that provide valuable industry exposure and practical workplace experience,” Genting Malaysia said in a statement.

The scholarship covers disciplines including hospitality and tourism management, culinary arts, parks and recreation science, finance, accounting, actuarial science, mathematics, data analytics, economics, engineering, information technology, computer science, artificial intelligence, business, marketing and human resources.

Past recipients include Ng Joo Ern, who studied mechanical engineering at the University of Bristol and now works in Genting Malaysia’s Digital Labs team, and Tan Kok Yan, who is building a career in the HVAC‑R field after gaining industry exposure through internships.

Applicants must be Malaysian citizens aged 23 and below, awaiting admission to a full‑time undergraduate programme at a local or overseas university, with household income not exceeding RM10,000 a month. 

They must also show leadership qualities and not hold other scholarships or study loans.

Applications must be submitted online with supporting documents, including academic certificates, résumé, proof of household income and a one‑page PowerPoint summary introducing themselves, their aspirations and achievements.

The deadline for applications is August 15, 2026.
