KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 — To strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities in Malaysia’s business events sector, Malaysia Business Events Week (MBEW) 2026 brought together policymakers, industry leaders and international stakeholders for a three-day event in the capital.
According to the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), the 11th edition of the event began on August 3 and concludes today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with participants from Malaysia and eight other countries.
“Malaysia Business Events Week has evolved into a catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and thought leadership,” MyCEB chairman Dr Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu said.
The event features discussions on emerging industry trends, meetings connecting 40 exhibitors with 52 hosted buyers, and a showcase of traditional crafts, community enterprises and local brands.
MBEW 2026 was officiated by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and supports the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
MyCEB said it hosted 194 business events involving 341,182 delegates in the first half of 2026, generating an estimated economic impact of RM1.81 billion.
The bureau has also secured 416 international business events scheduled between 2026 and 2030, with an estimated economic impact of RM3.98 billion.
Since its establishment, MyCEB has secured more than 3,575 events involving over 4.5 million delegates and generating an estimated RM26.7 billion for Malaysia.
