Hong Kong’s Ai Shan Claypot Express In S’pore Lets You Take Home Rice In Its Claypot For $1 Extra

Ordering takeaway usually means receiving your meal in a plastic box. But at Hong Kong-based chain Ai Shan Claypot Express’ first Singapore outlet at Jewel Changi Airport, you can take home your claypot rice in the actual pot it was cooked in for just $1 extra.

“At first, many customers thought they had to return the claypot,” says operations manager Liu Yu Bang, 41, who goes by Bom, in an 8dayseats TikTok video. “We do not sell claypots, we sell claypot rice,” he jokes.

Opened within Food Republic on Jul 3, the stall specialises in Hong Kong-style claypot rice topped with freshly cooked Hunan-style stir-fries.
