Award-winning Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano at Robertson Quay recently introduced a 90-minute bottomless weekday lunch, La Vita É Bella, featuring free-flow starters, handcrafted pastas, its acclaimed Neapolitan pizzas, and gelato for just $28++ per pax.
Caesar Salad
Cotoletta di Pollo
Starters strike a nice balance between fresh and hearty. The Caesar Salad comes with crisp romaine lettuce and grilled chicken breast, while the Cotoletta di Pollo features a crusty baked chicken thigh with a tender, succulent bite.
Ravioli ai Porcini
The pasta options are well considered too, offering a choice between creamy and tomato-based. Ravioli ai Porcini delighted me with well-made ravioli filled with porcini mushrooms. I’m not usually a fan of truffle sauce, but fortunately, this was creamy without being overly perfumed.
Mezze Maniche e Mulignana
I preferred the Mezze Maniche e Mulignana. The tomato-based sauce had great depth of flavour, accented with basil, while soft, tender aubergine in every bite added a lovely texture.
Diavola
There are three pizza options. The Diavola is the signature contemporary choice, packed with flavour from spicy Napoli salami that adds plenty of kick, layered with tomato sauce, fior di latte, basil and EVOO.
Aglio e Olio Pizza Cartwheel
The Aglio e Olio Pizza Cartwheel translates the much-loved flavours of aglio e olio onto a pizza. This garlicky creation comes with a thinner crust, which works particularly well with the simple toppings.
Pesto Basilico
Pesto Basilico is similarly straightforward, bringing basil pesto flavours to a pizza. The pizzas were all impressively thin and stretchy, with flavours that were on point, especially the well-crafted tomato sauce. That said, I would have preferred a bit more structure and chew.
Gelato al Cioccolato Fondente, Gelato al Pistacchio
Desserts keep things classic, sweetening the lunch hour with Gelato al Cioccolato Fondente and Gelato al Pistachio. Both had a luscious, velvety texture, although they were slightly too sweet for my liking.
At $28++, La Vita É Bella offers an affordable way to enjoy a leisurely Italian lunch, made even more enjoyable by the scenic riverfront views at Robertson Quay. La Vita É Bella is available every Monday through Friday from 12pm to 3pm (last seating at 2pm).
