SINGAPORE: A man was charged in court on Thursday (Dec 7) with taking bribes from Fullerton Healthcare Group between 2017 and 2018, when he was the chief executive officer of insurance company Aon Singapore.

Chiew Collin, a 56-year-old Singaporean man, was handed one count of obtaining gratification under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

He is accused of obtaining a bribe of S$240,000 (US$180,000) over two occasions between Dec 28, 2017 and May 7, 2018 from Fullerton Healthcare Group through Straits Priority Consulting.

This was as an inducement to advance the business interests of the healthcare group with Aon Singapore, the charge read.

At the time, Chiew was CEO of Aon Singapore.

Chiew was offered bail of S$100,000. His case will be heard again in January.
