Singaporean content creator Natasha Tan, aka Nana, is known for her lifestyle and fitness content on TikTok. But she may be even better known for her viral shio pan baking videos and causing hour-long queues at a non-descript salad shop.
Those who follow Natasha’s content may also have noticed glimpses of her home in the background of her videos, which boasts plenty of space, an open layout and what looks like a minimalist’s dream interior.
In the latest episode of Kaypoh Room Tours, Natasha gives host Amy Ang a closer look at the corner terrace landed property in the east, where she lives with her siblings and mum, Doreen, who is also familiar to her followers.
According to Natasha, her home follows an “out of sight, out of mind” concept, with a modern minimalist style. The property sits on a spacious 3,900 sq ft plot, though she admits she isn’t sure of the total built-up area.
When it comes to the renovation bill, Natasha is refreshingly candid as well: “I don’t have the real numbers ’cos I didn’t pay for it. But I’m thinking it’s about S$600,000 to $700,000.”
She explained that the entire area was dug out and hacked down, with the existing rooms removed to create a bigger, more open living space.
The open layout also gives her plenty of room for a large kitchen, where her famous shio pans are made. Her long kitchen island is one of her favourite features of the house, as it’s where she hosts friends and even holds shio pan classes.
She’s also a big fan of her robot vacuum, which she has nicknamed “Elon” and runs three times a day. In Natasha’s words, it works so well that her helper doesn’t need to clean the first-storey floors at all.
To keep the space looking clean and seamless, the rooms on the first floor are tucked behind handleless doors. These include her helper’s room, a bathroom with automatic lights so there’s no need for extra switches, and a guest toilet, which is the only door with a handle.
One of the “hidden rooms” on the ground floor is also Natasha’s bedroom, which features a custom carpentry area designed to house her cats’ litter box.
“I wanted my room to have hotel vibes, which is why I didn’t want a desk,” she revealed. Instead, she has a lounge chair beside her bed, like the ones often seen in hotel rooms.
Natasha also has a walk-in wardrobe that leads into her bathroom, which is tucked behind another hidden door. The space is sleek and mostly decked out in black tiles, giving it what she calls “dungeon vibes”, with a white marble countertop adding contrast.
One thing Natasha wouldn’t compromise on? Space. Her bedroom opens directly onto the backyard, which is currently still a blank canvas waiting for her to decorate or make use of.
