KUALA LUMPUR: The property market must embrace digitalisation and compliance to build trust, resilience and investor confidence, said Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying.
She said digitalisation is a necessity, particularly in sectors that affect financial stability and require consumer protection.
“The property market plays a fundamental role in the economy and in the lives of Malaysians seeking a home and a stable future,” Lim said at the launch of PaymentXchange here yesterday.
PaymentXchange is the first transparent and compliant property payment platform in the country, developed by Infomina Geolytik Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Infomina Bhd, with support from PEPS Ventures Bhd.
The platform connects buyers with registered real-estate agencies through a Bank Negara Malaysia-approved payment gateway, ensuring secure deposit handling and audit-ready visibility for all stakeholders.
Lim said property transactions often involve multiple parties and fragmented processes, which lead to vulnerabilities as scams become more sophisticated.
She said digital tools that integrate verified data, valuation workflows and secure payment trails can enhance accountability across the ecosystem.
“When records are consistent, when data is verified and when audit trails are secured, we create a market environment where both opportunities and responsibilities move together.
“By introducing digital infrastructure that records, reconciles and reports transactions in real time, we are embedding trust within the system,” she said.
Lim said the establishment of PaymentXchange was in line with the 2026 Budget and the government’s efforts to strengthen governance, reduce leakages and ensure accountability.
Citing the integration between PaymentXchange and the recently launched ValuationXchange platform, she said public-private collaborations can reinforce the real-estate ecosystem.
“When digital clarity replaces manual uncertainty, when processes are standardised and accountability is built into every stage, the entire industry can move towards long-term stability, sustainability and growth,” she added.
