Driver dies after Lamborghini crashes, bursts into flames on Malaysia highway

A man died after the luxury Lamborghini he was driving caught fire on the Bentong-Karak Highway in the Malaysian state of Pahang on Sunday.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ismail Abdul Ghani said they received an emergency call on the incident at 9.06am (local time) on Sunday, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reported.

According to him, eight personnel from the Bentong Fire and Rescue Station along with two vehicles were dispatched to the location, which was about 26km away.

“There was a fire involving a Lamborghini car that had crashed and was 100 per cent engulfed in flames.

“An adult male, the driver, was trapped in the car, while an adult female, the passenger, was extracted and taken to the hospital by members of the public,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

He stated that the firefighting operation involved two hosepipe streams from the fire engine’s water tank before the victim’s body was extracted from the wreck.

He further explained that the trapped driver was confirmed dead by health ministry personnel on site.

“The victim’s remains were subsequently handed over to the police for further action,” he added.
