SINGAPORE – A fire broke out in the kitchen of a HDB flat in Yew Tee on Sept 2 before it was swiftly put out.
The incident happened on the top floor of Block 684D in Choa Chu Kang Crescent at around 2.30pm, said Marsiling–Yew Tee GRC MP Alex Yam.
He said that there were no injuries, with neighbours of the affected unit evacuated as a safety precaution.
The Residents’ Corner centre was repurposed as a temporary space for affected residents while the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) conducts its assessment and recovery work.
