GE2025: Talking Tampines with Workers’ Party

Three of the Workers’ Party’s Tampines GRC candidates – Mr Faisal Manap, 50; Dr Ong Lue Ping, 48; and Mr Jimmy Tan, 53 – join me for the second livestream episode of The Usual Place, a podcast by The Straits Times.

They are in a four-way fight against the incumbent PAP team led by Social and Family Development Minister Masagos Zulkifli, the National Solidarity Party and the People’s Power Party.

With so many parties vying for one GRC, I also ask the WP candidates what they think about the opposition vote possibly being diluted there. Also, how are the WP new faces, Dr Ong and Mr Tan, handling their first election campaign?

In the run-up to GE2025, The Usual Place is moving from a weekly show to a half-hour daily live stream at noon, till May 1, a day before Cooling-off Day. I will wrap up what happened the night before, as well as share what’s to come in the next few days. Expert analysts will be featured along the way too.
