The top 10 healthcare centres on the list were dominated by hospitals from the US, Canada, Germany, Sweden, France, Israel and Switzerland.

Each hospital’s score was calculated based on an online survey of more than 85,000 medical experts and public data from post-hospitalisation patient surveys on their general satisfaction.

The score also looked into variables like hygiene and patient/doctor ratio as well as a Statista survey on whether hospitals use patient-reported outcome measures, which are standardised questionnaires completed by patients to assess their experience and results.

The participating countries were selected based on several comparability factors such as standard of living, life expectancy, population size, number of hospitals and data availability.
