Meet Hael Husaini. A Malaysian musician, singer, composer, writer and brilliant in his work too. And these days success just seems to follow him everywhere.
Undoubtedly, his song last year’s top hit ‘Diam’ was incredibly mesmerising and the lyrics just jived with just about every other guy in town.
It held a meaning that most of us go through that experience in life. So memorable has been the success of the song, Hael even has released a special edition of the song on Thursday (May 1).
Also not to forget his partnership with songstress Nadeera and long time writing partner Iqie Hugh. Together, they seem to weave magic after magic in the local music scene these days.
The trio’s current “Meriah Lain Macam” for the Raya festival is simply stupendous, to say it right. Over 1.87 billion hits in media and social streaming platforms and being ranked No.1 in so many charts. Breaking records just about everywhere and also a superb 16 million-plus hits in You Tube alone.
Hael and Iqie known for their intense melodic tracks, hard hitting guitars background and the ability to jump genres with ease are right now and by far, the flavour of Malaysian music.
And yet, despite his successes, he just prefers to stay humble about it all.
“It just wonderful to be recognised for your work. I’m very humbled by all the attention actually. But my aim has always been the same. I became a singer to help people in their life. To give inspiration to all my friends and also the younger guys.
“There is too much hurdles for youngsters in this age and time. I always hope and pray that my songs help them improve their lives, even by just a little bit, and when that happens, It make me a happy and contended musician,” said the ever-humble Hael.
And on his soaring career which sees Hael currently high in the top tier, the 38-year-old crooner prefers just to be cool about it.
“Me a star, no … no. Really, I’m just your everyday guy who just want to do well in his career. Your next-door neighbour who always willing to help the young ones,” said Hael.
“I feel blessed when many fans love my songs. It is indeed, very gratifying, to know your song is played in houses,cars and offices. Many people helped me in my career – My family, good friends, record producer Rocketfuel and also Astro. I’m very grateful to all of them and my many fans who have given me so much of love and support,” said Hael.
That so down-to-earth demeanor of himself is also a big reason that he believes also big factor of his success story.
“You know, as I said many times, being able to help and motivate youngsters and they love your work, is indeed the greatest reward for me. And I hope they continue to support me throughout my career,” said Hael.
The singer is also spreading his creative wings by establishing his own production company – Huge House Entertainment, which has been operational since last year.
“I hope this new venture will help young and upcoming singers to achieve their dreams. Of course, the ultimate goal is push our Malaysian music into the international arena.
“There many talented singer out there and I hope I can help and work with them in achieving our goals,” added Hael.
This writer has always been impressed with Malaysia’s star singer. And with such an amazing humble attitude, by far, it will be no surprise if Hael keep continuing his upward trend in the Malaysian music scene for a very, very long time.
