KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 226 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia school (SPM) leavers from Sungai Buloh parliament constituency today received the 2023 SPM incentives totalling RM100,250.
Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk R. Ramanan, who is Sungai Buloh member of parliament, said it was aimed at enhancing their academic performance and motivating the students to achieve greater success in the future.
“I sincerely hope that such noble efforts can be expanded nationwide, thereby helping to elevate the country’s educational quality to the next level.
“I will also ensure that this programme is implemented annually,” Ramanan said at SPM Excellence Assistance Programme held at Dewan Meranti Sungai Buloh.
It was conducted in two phases, with the first phase held in Kota Damansara last week, followed by today’s ceremony in Paya Jeras.
Ramanan also expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support by Rakyat Bank Foundation (YBR) in improving the educational standards of students, particularly those in the constituency.
YBR Chairman Datuk Philip Lasimbang said the assistance was intended to act as a catalyst for their continued success in education.
“It is aimed at strengthening their resolve to maintain the momentum of achieving outstanding results, thereby indirectly increasing the country’s human capital.
“Today’s initiative is proof that YBR not only extends assistance but also recognises the achievements of the students,” he remarked.
The students hail from seven schools, namely, SMK Bandar Sungai Buloh, SMK Bukit Gading, SMK Bukit Rahman Putera, SMK Saujana Utama, SMK Subang, SMK Subang Bestari, and SMK Seksyen 10 Kota Damansara.
