KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia’s 30-stock index closed higher on Friday lifted by bargain hunting activities on basic materials, utilities and energy counters.

The key index rose nearly five points to close at 1,718.

The ringgit strengthened against the dollar at 3.9380.

In the crypto exchange, Bitcoin slipped to RM279,107.

Ethereum dropped to RM8,150 and Solana stood at RM346.
