If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Malaysia and also want to catch a glimpse of a celebrity, you might want to consider visiting Mat Yeung’s Hong Kong-style roast meat restaurant in Petaling Jaya.
The 45-year-old TVB actor revealed earlier this month that he had opened a traditional roast meat eatery, Six Hub Roast House, saying that it’s long been one of his dreams.
He even hired an experienced chef from Hong Kong to ensure the dishes’ authentic flavour.
And let’s just say those who have visited the place seem to have had a splendid experience so far.
Recently, a netizen shared on Xiaohongshu that she dined at Six Hub Roast House.
She recalled seeing Mat there in person and said the actor was even handling a large hot water dispenser outside the restaurant, preparing tea for customers waiting in line.
He also worked the front of house, greeting diners himself and showing just how hands-on he is.
“I unexpectedly met a Hong Kong star. The best thing to go with the roast meat wasn’t the food, it was Mat Yeung,” she gushed.
The OP shared that she had originally just wanted to try “this roast meat restaurant that’s been getting a lot of attention lately”.
“But as soon as I reached the entrance, I thought: ‘Why does this guy look so familiar?’ I took a closer look… and it turned out to be Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung!” she wrote.
“In person, he seemed even friendlier than on TV and had absolutely no celebrity airs. I honestly couldn’t believe it!”
Besides being skilled at serving customers, Mat also impressed diners with his warm hospitality.
He even walked over to the OP’s table to chat with her and her friend, and happily smiled for the camera when she took out her phone to ask for a photo.
