Myanmar quake: SMART team returns home



PETALING JAYA: The Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) returned home following their mission to assist earthquake victims in Myanmar.

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) confirmed that the team had returned on Monday (April 7) on X.

Previously, members of the elite search and rescue team were dispatched to assist victims in Myanmar following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that also caused tremors to impact Thailand.

The team managed to rescue a 40-year-old man who had been trapped under rubble, as well as retrieve several bodies.
