Road closures, diversions announced for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit

PETALING JAYA: Police will conduct multiple road diversions and closures during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Malaysia.

The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director, Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, said this will be in effect from Tuesday (April 15) to Thursday (April 17).

“As many as 17 roads will face full closures and diversions for the state visit. They will last around 30 to 45 minutes to allow the delegation to move. Roads will fully reopen afterward,” he said.

Affected roads and highways include the Elite Highway, the Mex Highway and Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim.

“Around 378 policemen and officers will be stationed for escort and traffic control duties,” he added.
