A group of electricians from Singapore company Competent Electrician (@competentelectrician) are winning over TikTok with their very earnest attempt at dancing.
And no, they’re not trying to become the next viral dance stars. They just really want a holiday.
In a TikTok posted five days ago, four of the company’s workers can be seen rocking from side to side — with varying degrees of enthusiasm — as they make their case to viewers.
“We don’t want [to] do this video,” one says at the start of the clip.
“My boss say if this video goes viral, then my boss bring us for holiday.”
Well, that explains the dancing.
The guys then gamely continue their little routine while promoting the company’s electrical services, before revealing their boss’ challenge: Get 10,000 likes and they get a holiday.
“If this video can get the 10,000 likes, [he’s] gonna give us the holiday,” says one worker.
They end the pitch by declaring: “We want [to] save all Singaporeans. If need electrician, call us!”
Talk about working hard for that vacation.
Their efforts have clearly struck a chord.
At the time of writing, the video has racked up more than 120K views and close to 8K likes, with netizens rallying to help them reach their target.
“Boss you better give them a holiday!” wrote one, while another urged: “Sure 10,000! Let’s GO!”
Others were already planning the trip on their behalf.
“Start packing for holiday!” read one comment, while another suggested they could go to Pulau Ubin.
Many were also charmed by the guys’, um, choreography.
“So cute. Please boss, send them for holiday,” wrote one netizen, while another praised their “great dance”.
Hey, nobody said they had to be good dancers to earn a holiday.
With only around 2K more likes to go, we reckon the electricians should start thinking about where they want to go.
And boss, please don’t say Pulau Ubin.
