Before American superstar Taylor Swift, British band Coldplay performed six nights of their Music of the Spheres World Tour at the National Stadium earlier in January.
What got people talking past the last song was the request from the concert organisers to return the LED wristbands after the concert.
Also known as Xylobands, these were given to audiences to wear and be a part of the concert’s immersive light show.
Singapore’s return rate of 91 per cent is the highest in Southeast Asia, beating out Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. So who are the nine per cent of you who didn’t return it?! Tsk tsk.
According to concert organisers Live Nation, 321,113 attended all six nights of the concerts here, which means about 28,900 spectators didn’t return the wristbands.
Indonesia’s rate of 77 per cent made them the only country whose return percentage is below 80 per cent.
Umm… guys, you do know these bracelets don’t light up anymore, right?
Japan claimed the global top spot with a 97 per cent return rate, while Taiwan earned a respectable fifth place at 93 per cent.
According to some sources, the free wristbands cost approximately £400,000 (S$682,700) a night.
On Coldplay’s website, it states that by collecting, sterilising, and recharging the wristbands after every show, they have reduced their wristband production by 80 per cent.
