Tanya Chua Celebrates 50th Chinese Birthday With Longevity Peach Buns

While most of us might shy away from celebrating our birthdays as we grow older, Singapore singer Tanya Chua decided to proudly celebrate turning 50 according to the Chinese lunar calendar.

Though official records show the ‘Bluebirds’ songstress to only have turned 49 on Sunday (Jan 28), but according to Chinese tradition, a person is counted as one year old on the day of birth.

In an Instagram post on Monday (Jan 29), the ‘Bluebirds’ singer was seen dressed in a pink outfit, with a crown that read ‘It’s my birthday!’, and a glittery-gold sash with the words ‘Birthday Queen’ printed on it.

We are not going to lie; Tanya doesn’t look anywhere close to 50 to us and this is evident in her youthful grin as she opened and posed with the longevity bun.

A couple of netizens also took to sharing the same sentiment with one writing, “How does this look like 50?”
