A Chinese tourist recently took to Xiaohongshu to share her discovery of Funan Mall’s roof garden, which she described as a “super pretty observation deck”.
“You can see the Marina Bay skyline, and the areas surrounding Fort Canning Park!” she wrote, adding that the garden is perfect for lovers.
The tourist, who looks to have studied in Singapore, also included detailed directions to the hidden gem of a location.
While Funan may not be one of the most popular malls in Singapore, its rooftop deck provides the perfect alternative should you wish to avoid the crowd at Design Orchard or Ion Sky.
Many thanked the tourist for recommending the lesser-known spot, with some commenting they “often go to Funan, but didn’t know the roof garden even existed”.
We’re sure many Singaporeans can relate to that too.
For those looking to make a trip down to Funan soon, the roof garden is located on Level R, and is open from 10am to 10pm daily. The garden is pet friendly, and also connected to The Urban Farm, an agricultural area that is open to visitors.
We’ve been to Funan’s roof garden before, and while it is pretty, it never crossed our minds as a place to recommend to those visiting Singapore. Sometimes, it truly takes a visitor to notice the beauty in what we locals might consider the most regular of places.
