Tyler Ten Says Owning A Landed Property In S’pore Is His “Ultimate Goal”; Inspired By Desmond Tan Who Did So At 39

Having your own property is a dream for many people.

But for Mediacorp actor Tyler Ten, who currently lives in a four-room flat in the west with his family,  apparently wants more than just an HDB flat.

In the new season of PropertyGuru’s reality competition Home Run: Singapore, the 30-year-old actor appears as one of the guest stars on the property-themed reality show.

Thanks to the programme, Tyler got to experience viewing a property in person for the first time.

He shared that he used to view properties and learn about the property market online, but after gaining hands-on experience through the show, he now has a clearer idea of what he wants.

Tyler also told Chinese media vibes by 8world that he feels he is at a suitable age to buy a home and has been therefore more proactive about it.

However, Tyler has yet to find a property that he really likes.

For Tyler, buying a property is also a form of investment, and he hopes to see a good return within five to 10 years. Hence, he doesn’t think he’d purchase a property based solely on personal preference.

“My ideal house is, of course, the bigger the better, and I hope to live in a landed property. That’s my ultimate goal,” he said. “I hope to own my own piece of land in Singapore.”

He also hopes that his future home will be located near Mediacorp’s office and the city centre, and that he will have understanding neighbours who respect his privacy.

Speaking of landed homes, one can’t help but think of fellow Mediacorp actor Desmond Tan, who revealed on his 39th birthday last year that he had fulfilled his dream of owning a landed property.

Is Tyler hoping to follow in Desmond’s footsteps one day?

“I’ve always admired him. He is someone I aspire to be like,” said Tyler. “I’ve asked him for advice on investing, saving money and financial planning.”
