The movie adaptation of Wicked is set to hit the big screens later this year, but fans of the Broadway and West End production can also look forward to next year when the musical returns to the stage in Singapore.
Wicked The Musical is set to open in March 2025 at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands. Presented by Base Entertainment Asia, it’s the third staging in Singapore after popular runs in 2016 and 2011.

Loosely based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked tells the story of two witches, Elphaba and Glinda, before and after the arrival of Dorothy in Oz as told in L Frank Baum’s classic novel The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz.
The musical, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, premiered in 2003 and is one of the most successful stage productions in the world. It’s the fourth longest running show in Broadway history and the winner of over 100 awards, including Grammys and Tonys. It has also been staged in 16 countries.
