The newest season of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) is set to begin as the Westports Malaysia Dragons, Singapore Slingers, and the Saigon Heat from Vietnam, have all confirmed their participation in the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
The aforementioned three teams are actually no strangers to ABL fans. The Saigon Heat joined the league back in 2012 and is now entering its fifth season. The Vietnam-based team has been a semifinalist in each of the last two seasons. Meanwhile, both the Dragons and Slingers have been a part of the league ever since its inception in 2009.
