A 58-year-old man is slated to be charged with murder on March 13, after the death of a younger man at a Housing Board flat in Boon Lay.
Police said on March 12 that a 56-year-old was found dead inside the unit in Boon Lay Avenue on March 11, after they received a call for assistance at about 11.35am.
The suspect was arrested at the scene. Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that both parties are known to each other.
The Straits Times understands that the pair are brothers.
The offence of murder carries the death penalty.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
When ST arrived at the scene at 5.25pm on March 11, several police officers were outside the unit, which had been cordoned off.

A body was removed from the unit five minutes later.
A next-door neighbour, who wanted to be known only as Ms Zai, said the two men lived together in the flat.
The 21-year-old said that she was returning to her flat at 1pm when she saw a man in handcuffs sitting on the staircase, surrounded by police officers.
